Guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan and flanked by the mighty Neel Kanth Peak, Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to the mythology, this seat was once carpeted with wild berries, which gave it the name "Badri (Van)" meaning forest of berries.
